The village has rich rural architecture heritage. The Middle Age parceling out, a depth style space orientation (with the narrow facade facing the main village road) are still preserved in its heart. Lately, it has been loosing its authenticity due to numerous reconstructions (by building in larger windows, adding balconies, untypical roofs, wooden attics).

Fire Brigade Station, The History of Fire Fighting

According to the oral tradition, the history of the Fire Fighting in Vrhnika goes back to the year 1878, after the straw roof of the Zalaznik farm in Blatna Brezovica takes fire in 1872. Blatna Brezovica gets its first Fire Fighting unit in 1922. In the same year the first Fire Fighters’ party is being organized. The tradition is well established to this day.

St. James Way

St. James’s Way. The path takes us from Slovenska vas on the border with Croatia through Dol pri Vogljah on the border with Italy. It starts from Ljubljana to reach the Church of St. Jacob in Blatna Brezovica,  then goes past Sinja Gorica to Vrhnika and Logatec.
